Welcome back!

So another skill that is key when it comes to Netball is bounce passing. I find that this pass is used when an area on the court is crowded and should only be used over a short distance. It is a good pass to teach shorter players who have trouble passing around a defenderʼs long arms. If you have ever seen really experienced players use this skill, they usually only use this pass inside the goal circle to feed shooters. Now, before we get started make sure you find someone you can pass to (and obviously get a ball you can use).

Step 1:

  • A bounce pass can be one or two-handed. When you’re ready, you can either hold the ball to the side or at chest height.

Step 2:

  • Make sure your fingers are pointing towards the floor of the court.

Step 3:

  • Stand with one of your feet forward so you can bend your knees as you make the pass.

Step 4:

  • For this step, you need to release the ball from waist height. Use the power from your arms and knees as you push the ball forward.

Step 5:

  • Aim the ball just over halfway between you and the receiver – this will help your team-mate catch the ball.

Step 6:

  • Extend your arms as you make the pass to keep the ball on the right path.

And there you have it! You have just learnt another key skill when it comes to playing Netball! I hope you guys are so far enjoying my website and are learning a lot from my blogs.

Thanks for tuning in, catch you soon! My next post is out now!

Emily.
