“Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players. Games are played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each end.”
Okay so that was just the definition of ‘Netball’. To me that is just someone saying what the sport IS and not what its ABOUT.
For me, netball isn’t just about throwing a ball into a hoop and hoping it goes through, its about having fun on the court with your teammates and enjoying how fun the actual game is.
Netball has always inspired me to keep playing and never give up. Even if my team and I had lost a game, it has never put me off from trying my best.
Obviously there has to be a winner in a game of Netball, but it has never been about winning for me. It has always been about trying to do good for yourself, your team and whoever else you want to do good for.
Even though Netball may not always be about winning, there does come a point where you get competitive and want to win and be the best. And that’s totally fine! You train for a reason, you are focused for a reason and that’s really what you aim for when you play a game.
